Asian tour shifts away from LIV, joins forces with PGA and DP World Tour

The PGA Tour and DP World Tour have announced a multi‑year partnership with the Asian Tour, marking a significant realignment in global golf and formally replacing the Asian Tour’s previous role as a feeder circuit for LIV Golf. Under the agreement, the top Asian Tour players will gain structured pathways into both major tours for at least three years, a move welcomed by Rory McIlroy as a positive step for the sport.

The DP World Tour will resume co‑sanctioning selected Asian Tour events from 2027, reviving a collaboration that ran from 2016 to 2021. Asian Tour chief Cho Minn Thant said the timing was right to strengthen ties with the PGA and DP World Tours, emphasizing the benefits for players and fans.

LIV, which invested heavily in the Asian Tour’s International Series, declined to comment. PGA Tour executive Christian Hardy described the new alliance as a shared vision for golf’s future.
