Zimbabwe have announced a 17‑player squad for their landmark five‑match T20I series against South Africa, highlighted by the return of captain Josephine Nkomo and experienced batter Sharne Mayers. Nkomo, sidelined during the May tour of Pakistan, will lead the side for the first time since her official appointment, while Mayers re‑enters the setup after a two‑year absence and 33 T20I caps. All‑rounder Nyasha Gwanzura also returns, joining established figures such as Chipo Mugeri‑Tiripano, Modester Mupachikwa, Loreen Tshuma and Loryn Phiri.
The squad features three players fresh from the ICC Under‑19 Africa Qualifier: Lorraine Pemhiwa, Beloved Biza and Christina Mutasa. The series marks the first assignment for new head coach Mark Coles and Zimbabwe’s first home action since facing the UAE in late 2025. All matches will be played at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, beginning on 11 September and continuing on 13, 15, 17 and 19 September.
