Ten years of Verstappen and Red Bull

Red Bull have marked the tenth anniversary of Max Verstappen’s arrival, recalling his promotion from Toro Rosso in May 2016. The Dutchman, then just 18, replaced Daniil Kvyat after a difficult run of results for the Russian and made an immediate impact. His first race for the senior team, the Spanish Grand Prix, became an instant milestone: helped by the opening‑lap collision between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, Verstappen claimed his maiden victory and set the still‑standing record as the youngest winner in Formula 1. Between 2017 and 2020 he added nine more wins and consistent podiums, but his true breakthrough came in 2021, when ten victories, including the controversial finale in Abu Dhabi, delivered his first world title and ended Mercedes’ long dominance.

Three further championships followed, matching Sebastian Vettel and Alain Prost. After finishing runner‑up last season and enduring a difficult start to 2026, Verstappen now seeks renewed momentum in his milestone year.
