Official: Aldeguer to miss test and Thailand GP

The Gresini Racing team has recently announced that the Spanish rider has not recovered from a left femur fracture sustained during a private training session in Valencia earlier this year. Despite his efforts to be ready for the 2026 World Championship opener on March 1st, the two months proved insufficient for full healing. Consequently, Ducati test rider Michele Pirro will now substitute for him, partnering with Alex Marquez.

The team stated that while Aldeguer’s rehabilitation is progressing well, it remains inadequate for racing immediately. This delay pauses the momentum of the rider who impressed during his 2025 rookie season, finishing eighth overall with three podiums, including a historic maiden MotoGP victory in Indonesia. He must now focus solely on making a full recovery to join the racing grid later.
