Di Giannantonio commits to KTM for 2027

Fabio Di Giannantonio has chosen KTM for 2027, ending his long association with Ducati machinery after five seasons split between Gresini and VR46. As reported by Sky Italia after the French Grand Prix Warm Up, the twenty‑seven‑year‑old Roman has accepted the Austrian manufacturer’s offer and will join its factory line‑up alongside another future ex‑Ducati rider, Alex Marquez. The move marks a bold and financially significant step for Di Giannantonio, who will switch bikes after years within the Borgo Panigale structure.

His departure leaves a vacancy at VR46, which is expected to remain equipped with Ducati machinery. The team owned by Valentino Rossi could now turn to another Italian, with Luca Marini or Nicolò Bulega emerging as natural candidates to partner Fermin Aldeguer. Meanwhile, Enea Bastianini is increasingly linked to Aprilia Trackhouse, which is preparing to battle Gresini for his signature. Joan Mir has also surfaced as a surprise option for Gresini.
