Gresini Ducati boss Michele Masini maintains that Fermin Aldeguer is still an option for the team’s 2027 MotoGP project, even as reports link the young Spaniard to a future move to VR46. Aldeguer joined MotoGP with Gresini under a Ducati‑controlled contract signed in early 2024, which placed him at the satellite squad for his debut season.
Gresini has not yet renewed its Ducati agreement for 2027, when MotoGP’s new 850cc era begins, and currently has no riders signed. Speaking during the delay to the Brazilian Sprint, Masini confirmed ongoing talks with Ducati and stressed that Aldeguer remains firmly on the list of potential riders.
He added that the team has “many options” for 2027 and simply needs more time before making decisions. Friday reports suggested Aldeguer is likely to join VR46, but Masini’s stance signals Gresini is still fighting to keep him.
