Alex Márquez ruled out of Italian and Hungarian Grands Prix

Alex Márquez will miss both the Italian Grand Prix and the Hungarian round at Balaton Park after the heavy crash he suffered in Barcelona. The Gresini team initially reported a marginal fracture of the C7 vertebra and a broken right clavicle, and the Spaniard has since undergone successful surgery. A return for Mugello was always unlikely, and confirmation arrived through a brief social‑media post from the team announcing his absence from the next two races.

The message featured a smiling Márquez, a reminder of how much worse the incident could have been. Gresini have not provided details regarding his recovery timeline, nor have they revealed who will replace him for the upcoming events. The Hungarian Grand Prix, scheduled for June seven, will also come too soon for the rider. For now, the team will focus on managing the immediate future while Márquez begins the rehabilitation process following one of the season’s most alarming accidents.
