Open champions join Dubai Invitational field

Former Open Champions Shane Lowry and Francesco Molinari will bring Major pedigree to the 2026 Dubai Invitational at Dubai Creek Resort. Confirmed for the International Swing’s opening event from January 15-18, they join defending champion Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy, and Ryan Fox in a star-studded field.

Lowry, 38, aims for a seventh DP World Tour victory following his heroic, trophy-retaining putt at the recent Ryder Cup. He eagerly views the UAE as a special place to begin the new season. Meanwhile, Molinari returns after strongly finishing fifth in the inaugural 2024 tournament edition. The Italian star, well known for his perfect 2018 Ryder Cup record, praises the venue and the enjoyable Pro-Am format.

This unique bi-annual tournament features 60 professionals and 60 amateurs playing concurrently over three days, with Sunday reserved for pros. The celebrated duo’s participation guarantees a world-class spectacle to launch the entire 2026 golfing calendar in Dubai.
