Rio to host MotoGP’s 2027 season launch on iconic Botafogo Beach

MotoGP will officially launch its 2027 season in Rio de Janeiro, with a major event scheduled for February 21 on the famous Botafogo Beach. After returning to Brazil in 2026 for the first time in over twenty years, the championship will again spotlight the country, which will also host a Grand Prix at Goiana next season. The launch will gather all teams and riders, many preparing for new challenges with fresh machinery and updated line‑ups, turning Rio into an international showcase similar to previous events in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

MotoGP CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta highlighted Brazil’s passion, noting the sold‑out return to Goiania and praising Rio’s blend of iconic scenery and enthusiastic fans. Rio’s mayor Eduardo Cavaliere called the city honored to host one of motorsport’s key annual events, emphasizing its unique mix of natural beauty and global landmarks. The celebration aims to present Rio to millions worldwide and mark MotoGP’s most spectacular season start yet.
