LCR Honda rookie Diogo Moreira debuted a striking Ayrton Senna tribute helmet for his home Grand Prix in Brazil, celebrating the return of MotoGP to the country for the first time in 22 years. The event took place at the Goiania circuit, renamed in honour of the three‑time Formula 1 world champion following his death in 1994.
Moreira, racing in front of Brazilian fans for the first time in MotoGP, described Senna as a lifelong inspiration. He explained that the custom helmet features a classic design with Senna’s face on the top, calling it an immense honour to wear. The young rider highlighted parallels between their journeys, noting that both left Brazil for Europe to pursue their racing careers.
As he continues adapting to MotoGP machinery, Moreira hopes to emulate Senna’s determination and success. While acknowledging the challenge ahead, he said the tribute reflects his desire to follow the path of Brazil’s most iconic motorsport figure.
