Bulega set for VR46 move on a two‑year deal

Nicolò Bulega is on the verge of stepping up to MotoGP with VR46, as Sky Sport MotoGP reports that an agreement has been reached for the 2027 season. The deal, long in discussion and accelerated after Fabio Di Giannantonio’s departure became clear in May, is expected to run for two years, keeping Bulega with the team through 2028. VR46 had been seeking an Italian rider to pair with Fermín Aldeguer for sporting and commercial reasons, and Bulega fits that profile perfectly. Luca Marini’s likely move toward KTM Tech3 further smoothed negotiations.

Bulega’s arrival is highly anticipated, especially given his deep familiarity with Pirelli tyres, which could offer an advantage when MotoGP switches from Michelin next season. Details on how his salary will be divided between VR46 and Ducati remain to be clarified. He will also be the only Italian rider among the six Ducati machines on the grid, carrying the tricolour hopes into MotoGP.
