Bezzecchi boosts Silverstone hopes as recovery progresses

Marco Bezzecchi’s push to return in time for Silverstone gained momentum after the Aprilia camp confirmed he underwent a routine cleaning of the wound on his left knee. The Italian rider, injured during qualifying at the Sachsenring and forced to miss the German Grand Prix, had recently stated he would be present at Silverstone, and his recovery appears to be aligning with that promise. Following the medical check, Bezzecchi returned home and will continue rehabilitation without restrictions as he targets the August 9 British Grand Prix, the opening round of MotoGP’s second half of the 2026 season.

His comeback arrives at a delicate moment: after winning the first three races of the year, Bezzecchi has managed only one victory in the following eight rounds and has slipped to fourth in the standings. Four consecutive Sunday DNFs have left him 22 points behind teammate Jorge Martin, adding urgency to his return.
