Kevin Yakob’s spectacular strike against Viborg on 22 February has been voted Goal of the Year in the Danish Superliga, the league announced on Wednesday. The award is chosen from each Månedens Mål winner across the season, with fans deciding the final outcome through public or SMS voting. The criteria focus on technique, difficulty and visual impact rather than the goal’s importance. Yakob’s effort, a curling long‑range shot blasted from outside the box into the top corner, stood out as the clear favourite. His achievement is even more remarkable given his comeback from two cruciate ligament injuries before helping AGF win the Danish championship this season.
OB forward Fiete Arp finished second in the voting, while Franculino Djú claimed third place. The result highlights both Yakob’s resilience and the exceptional quality of his award‑winning strike, now recognised as the finest goal of the Superliga campaign.
