Copenhagen ease pressure with narrow Cup win but crisis still looms

FC Copenhagen took a modest but meaningful step out of their ongoing crisis by defeating Viborg 2–1 in the second leg of the Danish Cup semi‑final, securing a 4–2 aggregate victory and a spot in the final. After missing out on the Superliga Championship playoffs, the win provided a rare boost in morale.

Viborg actually started brighter, with former Copenhagen midfielder Thomas Jørgensen dictating play, but a disastrous mistake from goalkeeper Lucas Lund shifted the momentum. Lund spilled a weak effort, allowing Youssoufa Moukoko to tap in easily. Jørgensen later responded with a superb curling strike from distance to level the match. Just seconds into the second half, Moukoko struck again, turning another soft shot into a goal after Lund failed to keep it out. Viborg pressed late, yet Jacob Neestrup’s side held firm to reach the final, where they will face either FC Midtjylland or AGF.
