East Africa vows to deliver landmark AFCON 2027

Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania have pledged to deliver an unprecedented 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, insisting the PAMOJA edition will set new standards for the continent. Scheduled from 19 June to 17 July, it will be the first AFCON hosted by three nations, giving CAF a platform to reach more than 400 million people across East Africa. The bar is high after Morocco’s acclaimed 2025 tournament, which broke organisational and digital‑engagement records.

FKF president Hussein Mohammed stressed that East Africa is not competing with Morocco but aiming to stage a uniquely memorable event built on hospitality, efficiency and regional unity. CAF president Patrice Motsepe, in Nairobi for the Africa Forward Summit, reaffirmed Kenya’s hosting status and praised progress on key venues such as Talanta Stadium and Kasarani. Officials from the three countries reiterated their commitment to coordinated planning, infrastructure delivery and operational readiness to ensure PAMOJA 2027 becomes one of the most successful AFCON editions ever held.
