Red Bull Racing have initiated a major technical reshuffle as they attempt to revive the struggling RB22 and ease the growing scrutiny on technical director Pierre Waché. The move is not directly linked to Gianpiero Lambiase’s confirmed future switch to McLaren, as Max Verstappen’s long‑time engineer will remain in his role through 2027. Instead, the team have strengthened the engineering structure reporting to Waché after a disappointing opening to the season, despite promising performance from the first Ford‑assisted power unit.
Ben Waterhouse has been promoted to chief engineer for performance and design, taking immediate responsibility for vehicle development and working in direct coordination with Waché. Further support arrives on 1 July, when Italian engineer Andrea Landi becomes head of performance under Waterhouse. Both appointments are internal promotions, reflecting Red Bull’s strategy of relying on experienced personnel already embedded within the organisation as they push to regain competitiveness.
