Zalmi stay perfect as Kingsmen break through for first PSL victory

Peshawar Zalmi strengthened their position at the top of the PSL table with a commanding seventy‑six‑run win over Lahore Qalandars, stretching their unbeaten run to nine points and a +3.103 NRR. Asked to bat, Kusal Mendis struck seventy‑four and Babar Azam added forty‑three as the pair shared a 109‑run stand after an early wicket. A late stumble slowed momentum, but Michael Bracewell’s brisk twenty‑one from ten balls lifted Zalmi to 173 for seven. Their spinners then dismantled Lahore, reducing them to fifty‑six for five before bowling them out for ninety‑seven. Bracewell and Sufiyan Muqeem claimed three wickets each, with Nahid Rana taking two.

Hyderabad Kingsmen, meanwhile, secured their first win thanks to a blistering twenty‑four‑ball fifty‑run partnership between Irfan Khan and Hassan Khan in a chase of 189. Earlier, Saad Baig’s fifty and Moeen Ali’s explosive forty‑four had powered the Kings, before Hunain Shah’s superb three for nineteen closed their innings.
