The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially set the schedule for the 2027 Pakistan Super League, with the tournament beginning on March 18 and concluding with the final on May 2. Following consultations between franchises and stakeholders, the competition will retain its expanded eight-team format introduced this year.
The confirmed window is expected to overlap once again with the Indian Premier League, which is widely anticipated to start in mid-March. The clash could create player availability issues similar to previous seasons, when several contracted PSL players withdrew to join IPL franchises as replacement signings.
Last season saw major changes across the league, including the introduction of a player auction system in place of the traditional draft. The final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium attracted a record crowd as Peshawar Zalmi ended a lengthy title drought.
Attention now turns to signings, retentions, trades and the upcoming auction process.
