Alex Rins has confirmed that Yamaha has completed its factory line‑up by signing Ai Ogura, leaving the Spaniard searching for a new seat for 2025. Speaking to Sky, Rins revealed he contacted team director Massimo Meregalli eleven days ago to ask for updates. At first, Meregalli avoided the question, then admitted he should not reveal anything but would do so out of respect for their relationship, telling him that Yamaha had “signed the second rider”. With Jorge Martin already secured, the decision closes the door on Rins’ hopes of remaining with the team.
Rins said he accepts Yamaha’s choice but stressed he still feels he belongs in MotoGP and has more potential to show. He now turns his focus to his home Grand Prix at Jerez, where Yamaha aims to rebound after a difficult weekend in Austin. The rider remains determined to stay on the grid as the market continues to evolve.
