DeChambeau and Rahm share tight lead after windy LIV Singapore Opener

Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm opened LIV Golf Singapore by grabbing a share of the lead at 4‑under, but the leaderboard remains packed after a demanding first round at Sentosa Golf Club. England’s Lee Westwood and Canadian wild card Richard Lee also carded 68s, holding a slim one‑shot edge over a large chasing group.

Players battled intense heat and persistent winds that toughened the course, with only two competitors managing bogey‑free rounds. DeChambeau emphasized the need for sharper iron play, while Westwood praised the immaculate greens despite the challenges posed by the rough. Rahm, who posted five birdies, highlighted accuracy and putting as decisive factors this week. Lee, familiar with the layout from his Asian Tour days, believes his course knowledge could prove valuable. Meanwhile, Rahm’s Legion XIII leads the team standings at 11‑under, six shots ahead of DeChambeau’s Crushers GC.
