Franco Colapinto Hints at Continued Alpine Role for British Grand Prix

Franco Colapinto, who took over Alpine’s second seat from Jack Doohan after the Miami Grand Prix, has hinted at retaining his spot for the upcoming British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The 22-year-old Argentine, originally a Williams reserve, joined Alpine earlier this year as part of a team agreement and was later promoted to a race seat.

Despite challenges adjusting to the underperforming Alpine car—which currently sits last in the constructors’ standings—Colapinto remains optimistic. Speaking in Austria, he expressed excitement for Silverstone, where he made his F1 debut in FP1 with Williams last season. “Austria was where I learned I’d drive my first FP1, so this weekend is very special,” Colapinto said. “Silverstone was my first session with Williams, and it was an unforgettable moment.” His comments suggest Alpine’s driver lineup will remain unchanged at Silverstone.
