Amid recent management changes, the BWT Alpine Formula One Team has officially clarified its internal leadership structure ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Following the unexpected resignation of Oliver Oakes just two days after the Miami Grand Prix, questions were raised about the roles and responsibilities within the team.
Initially, Alpine announced that executive advisor Flavio Briatore would assume Oakes’ former duties. However, the appointment of Racing Director Dave Greenwood as "team representative" added to the confusion. The title sparked speculation, as it echoed the role held by Stake’s Alessandro Alunni Bravi, who functions as a team principal in all but name. To clear the air, Alpine released a statement confirming that Greenwood will serve as the team’s representative strictly for administrative matters involving relevant stakeholders.
