The Portland Trail Blazers have waived Jeremy Sochan, ending the Polish forward’s brief stint with the franchise before the 2026–27 campaign begins. Marc Stein reported the decision on October 17, as teams prepared to finalize their 15-man opening-night rosters.
Sochan joined Portland during the summer on a one-year, $2.6 million Exhibit 9 contract, allowing the organization to evaluate his potential without making a long-term commitment. Selected 9th overall by San Antonio in the 2022 NBA Draft, Sochan initially showed considerable promise. He averaged 11.0 points as a rookie and followed up with 11.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 2023–24.
However, his role diminished considerably. After splitting the 2025–26 season between the Spurs and Knicks, he recorded just 3.6 points and 2.4 rebounds across 44 appearances.
Across four NBA seasons, Sochan has averaged 9.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 228 regular-season games.
