Aiman Anwer ends international career after a decade with Pakistan

Pakistan fast bowler Aiman Anwer has retired from international cricket, with the Pakistan Cricket Board confirming her decision on August 26. Anwer debuted in 2016 and went on to play 37 T20Is and eight ODIs, becoming a regular presence in Pakistan’s women’s setup. Her final international appearance came at the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.

Across her career, the 34‑year‑old collected 29 wickets in T20Is and four in ODIs, featuring in three T20 World Cups and the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. Her last ODI outing was Pakistan’s league match against England in that tournament.

Anwer’s statistical decline in later seasons reflected her reduced playing time, but she remained a dependable squad member through multiple global events. Her retirement closes a chapter for Pakistan Women, who now look ahead to developing new pace options as they transition into the next competitive cycle.
