Lukaku completes Fenerbahçe move in €6m deal through 2028

Fenerbahçe have officially announced the signing of Romelu Lukaku, confirming the Belgian striker’s arrival from Napoli on a permanent deal running until 2028. The move represents a major statement from the Turkish giants, who had made securing a marquee centre‑forward their top priority this summer. Lukaku joins after two seasons in Italy, where he contributed to Napoli’s Serie A title and Supercoppa triumph, scoring fifteen goals in forty‑five appearances. The veteran forward will compete for minutes with fellow new arrival Vedat Muriqi, adding significant depth to the club’s attacking options.

Fenerbahçe secured the transfer for six million euros, a notably modest fee compared to the thirty‑nine million euros spent on Mason Greenwood last month. At thirty‑three, Lukaku now embarks on the ninth club of his well‑travelled career, bringing experience and physical presence to a squad aiming to challenge domestically and in Europe. His unveiling underscores Fenerbahçe’s determination to strengthen decisively ahead of the new campaign.
