Trabzonspor sign Player of the Year in Danish Superliga

Trabzonspor have completed the signing of Turkish international Aral Simsir from FC Midtjylland in a record‑breaking transfer. The club agreed to a €13 million fee, payable in seven installments, with bonuses potentially raising the total to €15 million, surpassing the previous record set by the €9.5 million acquisition of Ernest Muçi. Simsir has signed a four‑year contract with an option for an additional season, keeping him at Trabzonspor until June 2030.

The winger leaves Midtjylland after a decade, during which he won four trophies, made 145 appearances, scored 26 goals and provided 40 assists. He was also named 3F Superliga Player of the Year by several media outlets and made his senior debut for Turkey in June. Simsir said he wanted to “explore my talent in a different setting,” noting Midtjylland’s history of developing players for major moves abroad. Trabzonspor view him as a cornerstone for their long‑term project.
