Real Madrid edge closer to signing Enzo Fernandez

Real Madrid have intensified their pursuit of Enzo Fernández after reaching an agreement in principle on personal terms with the Chelsea midfielder. The Argentine, currently at the World Cup, is reportedly ready to sign a long‑term contract through 2032, signalling strong interest in joining the Spanish giants. With Marc Cucurella and Bernardo Silva already secured, Madrid view Fernández as the next key addition in their midfield rebuild following the departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

However, negotiations with Chelsea promise to be far more complex. The London club consider Fernández a central figure and are unwilling to accept less than the €121 million paid to Benfica in 2023. Any deal would likely surpass the fee for Jude Bellingham, potentially becoming the most expensive signing in Madrid’s history. José Mourinho is said to be a major supporter of the move, identifying Fernández as a cornerstone for the club’s next era.
