Inter seal historic double with dominant Coppa Italia triumph

Inter completed a historic double by defeating Lazio 2–0 at the Stadio Olimpico to secure their tenth Coppa Italia, capping Cristian Chivu’s remarkable first season in charge. Fresh from their Scudetto triumph, the Nerazzurri controlled the final from the outset, asserting the same authority that defined their campaign.

Lautaro Martínez threatened early, and Inter’s pressure was rewarded in the fifteenth minute when Federico Dimarco’s corner was met by Marcus Thuram, whose header deflected off Adam Marušić for the opener. Lazio attempted to respond with an aggressive press, but Inter’s defence remained composed, and a second goal arrived on thirty‑five minutes. A mistake by Nuno Tavares allowed Denzel Dumfries to pounce and set up Martínez, who finished calmly to double the lead. Lazio improved after the break, with Tijjani Noslin hitting the post and Boulaye Dia denied brilliantly by Josep Martínez, but Inter held firm to celebrate a dominant and historic season.
