Roma surge back into Champions League race as Milan and Juve stumble

Roma’s push for a long‑awaited Champions League return has reignited ahead of Sunday’s visit to Parma, with both Juventus and AC Milan faltering at the worst possible moment. A heavy defeat to newly crowned champions Inter last month appeared to end Roma’s hopes, yet ten points from four matches have lifted Gian Piero Gasperini’s team to within one point of fourth‑placed Juventus, with Milan only two points further ahead.

Gasperini insists Roma must be flawless in their final three fixtures, while also relying on rivals to slip. His position has strengthened significantly following Claudio Ranieri’s dismissal as senior advisor after their public clash, a turning point that preceded Roma’s current surge. Milan’s collapse has further opened the door, with Massimiliano Allegri’s side collecting just seven points since beating Inter and scoring once in five games. Roma’s run‑in appears favourable, though the looming derby with Lazio remains a major obstacle.
