Fenerbahçe sack Tedesco after heavy derby defeat

Fenerbahçe have parted ways with coach Domenico Tedesco, dismissing him on Monday just a day after a damaging 3‑0 defeat to Galatasaray that effectively ended their Super Lig title hopes. The loss left Fenerbahçe seven points behind their rivals with only three matches remaining, prompting the club to act swiftly. Tedesco, who succeeded José Mourinho in September, failed to complete the season despite early optimism surrounding his appointment.

The derby unravelled with Talisca missing a first‑half penalty at 0‑0 before goalkeeper Ederson was sent off in the second half, compounding Fenerbahçe’s problems. In an official statement, the club also confirmed the departures of sporting director Devin Ozek and football coordinator Berke Celebi. Assistant coach Zeki Murat Gole will take charge for the remainder of the campaign.

The decision marks another turbulent chapter for Fenerbahçe, who now face a crucial summer rebuild after another title challenge fell short.
