Onana likely to return to Man United as Trabzonspor reject £40m fee

Andre Onana appears set to return to Manchester United at the end of the season after Trabzonspor made clear they will not meet the Premier League club’s £40 million valuation. The Cameroon international has spent the campaign on loan in Turkey, making 21 league appearances as he attempted to rebuild confidence following an inconsistent spell at Old Trafford. 

According to reports in Manchester, talks over a permanent transfer have stalled, with Trabzonspor unwilling to match United’s asking price. As a result, Onana is expected back at Carrington once his loan expires. 

United signed the goalkeeper from Inter Milan in 2023 for around £47 million, but his debut season was marked by uneven performances before the club opted for a loan move. His return will force United to reassess their goalkeeping plans, with alternative options likely to be explored if no buyer emerges for a permanent deal.
