Nico Paz hospitalised after head clash but cleared of serious injury

Como midfielder Nico Paz was taken to hospital after experiencing blurred vision following a forceful clash of heads during the first half of the match against Genoa. The Real Madrid loanee collided accidentally with defender Marcandalli around the thirty‑minute mark and was unable to continue after the break. Coach Cesc Fàbregas introduced Maxence Caqueret at half‑time while Paz was sent for precautionary tests.

Fàbregas later confirmed that the midfielder was feeling better but required further assessment due to the temporary vision problems. A CT scan subsequently returned negative results, ruling out serious injury and allowing Paz to rejoin the squad for the return trip. The incident briefly overshadowed Como’s 2-0 victory, but the club were relieved by the positive medical update. Paz will continue to be monitored in the coming days, though early indications suggest he avoided significant damage despite the severity of the collision.
