Sarfaraz appointed Pakistan Test coach for Bangladesh tour

Sarfaraz Ahmed has been named head coach of Pakistan’s men’s Test team for next month’s tour of Bangladesh, marking his first major assignment since retiring and guiding the U19 side to the Asia Cup title as mentor‑manager. Former internationals Asad Shafiq and Umar Gul will serve as batting and bowling coaches. Shan Masood continues as captain for the two‑match series, part of the 2025‑27 World Test Championship cycle.

The squad includes four uncapped players, Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, while five members are currently training in Lahore at a red‑ball camp. Pakistan will play the first Test in Dhaka from May eight to twelve, followed by the second in Sylhet from May sixteen to twenty. The team assembles in Karachi on April twenty‑seven for a short camp before departing on May two, with PSL players joining once their tournament commitments conclude.
