Abdur Razzak is set to begin a new chapter in his cricket career, confirming he will join the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s High Performance Unit from June. The former national spinner, previously part of the recently dissolved board led by Aminul Islam, said discussions with BCB had progressed smoothly. His appointment comes as the board restructures the HP programme, with senior assistant coach Mohammad Salahuddin being reassigned as its new head once the Pakistan series concludes.
Razzak has long expressed interest in coaching, having served on the national selection panel before becoming a BCB director. He completed his Level 3 coaching certification in January 2026 to prepare for a full transition into the role. Razzak believes his playing experiences, including the period when he remodelled his bowling action, will help him guide emerging talents. He hopes to pass on lessons earlier so young players can advance faster than previous generations.
