Cummins cleared for IPL return as Sunrisers regain their marquee fast bowler

Pat Cummins has been cleared to rejoin Sunrisers Hyderabad for the IPL after medical scans confirmed that his back stress issue has fully healed. The Australian captain, who has not played competitively since suffering the injury during last year’s Ashes, will return to India on April seventeenth and is expected to bowl without restriction. The tests, conducted in Sydney on Wednesday, allowed Cricket Australia to issue the necessary NOC, as first reported by press.

Cummins had initially linked up with SRH at the start of the tournament before flying home for further assessment. In his absence, Ishan Kishan has been leading the side. It remains uncertain how quickly Cummins will regain match rhythm, with Hyderabad set to face Chennai Super Kings a day after his arrival and Delhi Capitals on April twenty‑first. SRH currently sit fourth in the standings with two wins and three defeats, hoping his return provides a timely boost.
