Lucknow Super Giants have signed George Linde to replace Wanindu Hasaranga, who will miss IPL 2026 after failing to recover from a World Cup hamstring injury. Tom Moody confirmed during the match in Kolkata that LSG were finalising a new overseas addition.
The franchise made its choice on 10 April after weighing alternatives such as Mujeeb ur Rahman and Liam Dawson. They ultimately selected Linde, a 34‑year‑old left‑arm spinner with thirty‑seven T20Is, 403 runs at a 147.61 strike rate and thirty‑five wickets at 7.58.
It will be Linde’s first IPL stint, joining at his INR 1 crore base price.
