Moroccan clubs lead player transfer profits in the Arab world

Moroccan clubs have reinforced their dominance in the regional transfer market, topping the Arab profitability charts between 2021 and 2025, according to the Mercato East 2025 report. The study highlights total profits of 42.7 million dollars, a figure that far exceeds returns generated by clubs in other Arab nations and reflects Morocco’s growing success in exporting talent abroad.

In 2025 alone, Moroccan teams recorded 11 million dollars in profit — a 33% rise from 2024 — driven by 18 million in player‑sale revenue against roughly 7 million in spending. Tunisia ranked second for the year with 4.1 million, followed by Algeria, Bahrain and Kuwait.

Across the five‑year cycle, North African clubs maintained their lead, with Tunisia accumulating 13 million dollars and Algeria 8.3 million. The report underscores how Morocco’s investment in youth development and efficient player marketing continues to elevate its footballing profile internationally.
