Wahbi welcomes CAF ruling but stresses World Cup mission

Morocco head coach Mohamed Wahbi has praised the Confederation of African Football’s decision to revoke Senegal’s Africa Cup of Nations crown and award it to Morocco, calling the ruling a source of joy for the entire national setup. Speaking at Thursday’s press conference, Wahbi congratulated Moroccan fans, players, and staff, describing the outcome as fully deserved.

He noted that the decision has lifted spirits within the squad, though he was quick to redirect attention toward upcoming challenges. Wahbi stressed that while the news is encouraging, the team must remain focused on what lies ahead, particularly their World Cup campaign. Dwelling on past events, he said, would not help Morocco reach its full potential on the global stage.

Wahbi concluded by expressing trust in the governing bodies, affirming that the process was handled correctly. His priority, he emphasized, is to concentrate solely on football and prepare the team for the demands of the World Cup.
