The Bangladesh Cricket Board says preparations for the 2025‑26 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League are moving forward despite a seven‑month dispute with several Dhaka clubs. The stalemate has left professional cricketers increasingly frustrated, with many expressing concerns publicly while the players’ association works to resolve the impasse. The DPL, Bangladesh’s premier List A competition, remains essential for identifying and developing national‑team talent, making the prolonged delay particularly damaging for the domestic structure.
The Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis will meet all participating clubs on April 8 to finalise fixtures, logistics, and operational plans for the season. In a statement, the BCB reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the league system, stressing that the DPL remains central to the country’s talent pipeline. The board also emphasised its intention to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure a stable, competitive, and well‑organised tournament.
