Tanzim Sakib closing in on full fitness ahead of New Zealand series

Tanzim Hasan Sakib says he is nearing full bowling intensity as he works back from the back injury that sidelined him during Bangladesh’s recent ODI series against Pakistan. The pace‑bowling allrounder, viewed as a key figure in the country’s white‑ball plans, has joined the preparation camp for the upcoming home series against New Zealand after completing his rehabilitation under the guidance of team physios and coaches. Speaking to press, Tanzim admitted the rehab process felt “boring,” but confirmed he is now operating at roughly 70 to 80 percent in the nets.

He expects to reach full capacity within four sessions and hopes to be fully ready by early April. New Zealand arrive on April 13 for three ODIs and three T20Is, with matches split between Dhaka and Chattogram. Bangladesh began their build‑up on March 27, and Tanzim’s progress offers a timely boost as the squad intensifies its preparations.
