Fresh off their WC win, India and Deepti are now targeting T20 glory in 2026

Following their historic ICC Women’s Cricket WC 2025 triumph over South Africa, India has already set its sights on the 2026 T20 World Cup in England. All-rounder Deepti Sharma, a star of the victorious campaign, was named Player of the Tournament for her remarkable contributions.

Sharma became the first cricketer in a Women's World Cup to achieve the double of scoring over 200 runs and taking 20 wickets in a single edition. She finished as the tournament's top wicket-taker with 22 scalps and also scored 215 runs, included three half-centuries. Her standout performance came in the summit clash, where she scored a vital fifty and claimed a five-wicket haul to secure the maiden title for India.

Calling the victory a "dream," Sharma acknowledged she was lucky to have delivered an impactful performance in the final. Now, her focus shifts, stating, "The T20 World Cup will definitely be on our minds."
