Franco Colapinto admitted there “was not a lot we can do” after he and Alpine teammate Pierre Gasly finished at the back of the Mexico City Grand Prix. Gasly came home 15th, just ahead of Colapinto, marking another tough outing for the Enstone-based team. “I didn’t know it was going to be that long,” said Colapinto, who remains without a point this season and faces growing uncertainty over his F1 future with only four races left.
Alpine continued to sit bottom of the Constructors’ Championship, 40 points behind Kick Sauber, heading to Brazil — the circuit where Gasly and Esteban Ocon secured a surprise double podium last year. Despite their struggles, Gasly stays positive, hoping the team can find improvements in Sao Paulo after seven consecutive races without scoring.
