Pressure is mounting on Franco Colapinto

Franco Colapinto’s Alpine future appears increasingly uncertain after another point-less outing at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Despite outqualifying Pierre Gasly and starting 14th, he tumbled back to finish 18th following a disastrous 10-second pit stop. The Argentine remains the only driver yet to score in 2025, with Flavio Briatore demanding points as pressure mounts.

Speculation has grown over potential replacements, with Jack Doohan and Paul Aron waiting in the wings and Briatore also eyeing experienced options on the market. Valtteri Bottas has emerged as a surprise candidate, particularly with Alpine set to become a Mercedes customer in 2026. Although reports suggested Bottas was reluctant to move amid talks with Cadillac, the Finn has since hinted he would consider a short-term Alpine deal. For now, Gasly continues to carry the team’s hopes, with Colapinto running out of time to impress.
