Lewis Hamilton forfeits all-time F1 record after Chinese GP disqualification.

After his shocking post-race disqualification at the Shanghai International Circuit, Lewis Hamilton lost the all-time F1 record he set in the Chinese Grand Prix. After choosing a two-stop strategy and starting in sixth place, the seven-time world champion's SF-25's skid-block was discovered to be 0.4–0.5 mm too short during regular post-race tests, and he was removed from the results.

The 40-year-old British driver had also been disqualified in the 2009 Australian and 2023 United States Grand Prix races, making this his third disqualification in Formula One. In the first of those at Albert Park, he was disqualified for lying to the stewards. Ironically, he then lost a second place finish at the Circuit of the Americas for too much wear on the skid-block of his Mercedes W14.
