T1 is reloading, giving Faker yet another shot at ultimate glory

Following their 2024 Worlds victory, T1 is enhancing its coaching staff by bringing on Mata, the legendary 2014 Worlds champion with Samsung White. Announced on Nov. 21 via T1’s X account, Mata joins as a coach to guide T1 into the future. This move follows the departure of coach Roach, who left due to mandatory military service.

Mata, real name Cho Se-hyeong, boasts a decade-long League of Legends career. As a support player, he lifted the Worlds trophy in 2014 with Samsung White. After retiring as a player, he transitioned to coaching, helping Gen.G secure the 2024 LCK Spring title and working with Royal Never Give Up in the LPL. Now back with T1, where he played from 2018 to 2019, Mata aims to contribute to the team’s potential Worlds three-peat. Fans eagerly await his impact.
