Four well-known players will represent Korea in the mid lane at this year's League of Legends World Championship. In fact, only one player has ever broken the streak of the same four mid laners representing the region in the previous five World Championships. The formidable quartet of Faker (T1), Showmaker (Dplus KIA), Bdd (KT Rolster), and Chovy (Gen.G) will represent Korea at Worlds this year. Since 2019, one of these players has won almost every Korean Worlds spot, which means that 17 of the 18 teams that the LCK has sent to Worlds over the past five seasons have included one of these four players in their starting lineups.
Zeka, the starting mid for the world champion team from the previous year, DRX, was the only Korean mid laner to compete at Worlds without being a member of the Faker-Showmaker-Bdd-Chovy quartet.
