Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton secured the P1 finish in the Portuguese Grand Prix, beating Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas to the first finish in the close battle in the third F1 race. Verstappen finished second and Bottas followed behind in the third at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. Bottas started on pole but gave up his position to the seven-time world champion. While Serio Perez followed them behind in fourth place.
The match also saw Alfa Romeo’s Kimi Räikkönen collided with his team-mate Antonio Giovinazzi during the race and the race was stopped for a while. Taking advantage of the restart Hamilton fought back and gained the lead on Max and Bottas to finish first. This was his second win of the season while Max now challenges him for the title this season with one win.
