Tresoldi hat-trick stuns Inter as Brugge claim 4-3 thriller

Club Brugge produced a remarkable Champions League upset on Tuesday, defeating Inter 4-3 at the Giuseppe Meazza thanks to a brilliant hat-trick from Italian striker Nicolo Tresoldi.

The visitors broke the deadlock after Tresoldi converted a penalty, punishing Inter for a defensive mistake. Lautaro Martinez responded before half-time, ending his six-match Champions League scoring drought with a composed finish.

Inter emerged with renewed attacking intent after the interval but were punished for their defensive errors. Tresoldi capitalised on a costly mistake by goalkeeper Josep Martinez before completing his hat-trick to put Brugge firmly in control.

Lautaro scored again to revive Inter’s hopes, but Vermant delivered another blow with a decisive finish. Ange-Yoan Bonny struck in stoppage time, yet his late goal proved insufficient to rescue the hosts.

The defeat leaves Inter still searching for their first Champions League points, while Brugge celebrate a memorable European victory.
