Despite renewed scrutiny tied to comments resurfacing from Team USA activities, Paul argued that such narratives do not reflect Embiid’s current reality. Analyst Max Kellerman had highlighted doubts about the player’s perceived work ethic, citing Brian Scalabrine’s suggestion that national‑team stars often judge one another by their commitment. Paul rejected that framing, saying Embiid spent the offseason fully healthy and in peak physical form.
