Eredivisie top scorer Ayase Ueda completes Lille move from Feyenoord

Japanese striker Ayase Ueda has completed his transfer from Feyenoord to Lille, signing a contract until 2030 after the French club agreed a reported €15 million fee. Ueda left Rotterdam immediately following Feyenoord’s 2‑2 draw with ADO Den Haag, where Lille president Olivier Letang was present to finalise negotiations. The 28‑year‑old arrives after a standout 2025‑26 campaign, scoring 25 goals in 31 Eredivisie matches to finish as the league’s top scorer.

Ueda said he was impressed by Lille’s style of play, stadium and supporters, adding that he aims to continue developing and repay the club’s trust. Letang praised Ueda’s profile and noted he will become the first Japanese player to represent Lille. Ueda departs Feyenoord after 47 league games and 12 goals, calling his time in Rotterdam “unforgettable.” His exit leaves Feyenoord with only Shaqueel van Persie and Nacho Ferri up front, prompting the club to seek a new striker.
